This is the most convenient location ever. Located minutes away from Ralph's, tennis courts, Cedars, and bus stops. The building is newly remodeled, very quiet and clean. The apartments are spacious and airy. Lots of natural light. The 2 bedroom apartments are so spacious that you can have another room (making it 3). TOTALLY RECOMMEND living here.

2 bedroom - 2 bath - 2 parking spots - balcony
Biggest Pro: Street parking and location
Biggest Con: Ceilings are thin so walking is loud
For a studio apartment this place was actually fairly large. Living room was a decent size, kitchen was very large, bathroom was large and there was a small room off of the living room that was large enough to fit a queen sized bed, almost making it a one bedroom apartment. The inside was pretty nice, clean hardwood floors in the living area and vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom. 4 large windows, good paint job, and some water damage in the corner of the living room ceiling but nothing too out of hand. The only amenities were the on site washer and dryer, but for it being a large apartment complex there was only one dryer and one washer on site and each cost 2.00 per load, which seemed way too high. The major downside of the apartment was the noise level, the walls seemed almost paper thin, you could hear every tiny little noise in the hallway or surrounding apartments. Over all I enjoyed the look and feel of the apartment, but the noise was what really killed this one for me, unless you sleep like a rock I wouldn't recommend this place.

Biggest Pro: Beautiful interior
Biggest Con: Noise Level
I honestly really enjoyed this apartment, it was a large older, yet remodeled building called the Havenhurst. For the size of the building and the large amount of tenants it was actually incredibly quiet inside, though during the weekends it could be get a little noise at night due the fact it was a corner apartment and right around the corner from Hollywood blvd. I actually enjoyed the neighborhood, there was always something interesting to see when staring out the window or off of the shared balcony. Every tenant that I met in the building was extremely friendly but kept to themselves for the most part. My favorite part of living in this building was the enormous, beautiful courtyard hidden in the center of the building. A beautiful fountain and tables were in the center, which was perfect if you wanted to just go outside and relax, the best part was it was hardly used so it was a nice place to go for fresh air and some peace and quiet. The size was also a very big plus, the living area and both bedrooms were very spacious though the kitchen and bathroom left a bit to be desired. Overall one of my favorite buildings I have lived in.
1861 Whitley Ave, Hollywood, Ca 90068
Biggest Pro: Quiet, Private Courtyard
Biggest Con: Outside Noise
This cheaply built 1960s building is run by a cheap quasi-gangster who does the poorest job of maintaining it and employs a pedantic manager who is ineffective at best. It is full of sketchy and dangerous tenants, and it has popcorn ceilings with asbestos as well as very dirty carpets, terrible pipes, dangerous wiring, and no concern for its tenants. Avoid at all costs.

Biggest Pro: Location near restaurants and shops
Biggest Con: Terrible Management and Maintenance
I Completely Agree with Picklesimer. I was finally happy with where I lived..Good size, Good location. But dun dun dunnnnnn A new manager comes and makes things a living hell. No Matter what time or day there he is .. A Devil standing on your shoulder, breathing Down your Neck. Now I'm forced to Move out of my apt because of New Rules they pulled out of there ass. As of 2012 I would NOT recommend moving into this building with the present manager he's rude and unfair.

Biggest Pro: Tourist,Rude Manager,No Parking
Biggest Con: Close to metro station,Fresh n Easy,In n Out
Shi*y. Had packages stolen and management did nothing about it. Thin walls and ceilings. You hear everything. EVERYTHING. GHETTO families with like 6 people living in 2 bedroom units. NOISY CHILDREN running around all day and night because there is a playground in the courtyard (some of them were the manager's- she's never in the office even during office hours). Price is WAY too high to live in hookerville and questionable neighbors.

Biggest Pro: Spacious and Modern
Biggest Con: NOISE, BAD NEIGHBORHOOD, BAD NEIGHBORS, BAD MANAGERS
Horrible! half the apartment had no electricity. the oven didn't work and leaked gas from time to time the refrigerator leaked and there was a horrible infestation of roaches! the landlord always promised to fix things but only came around to collect rent. Unfortunately we couldn't go anywhere else at the time so i was forced to pay. but he sure does know how to dress it up on open houses. Don't fall for it!!
95 E Orange grove blvd, Pasadena, Ca 91103
Biggest Pro: Nothing
Biggest Con: Half of the place didn't have Electricity for our whole year!
This place is beautiful. Conveniently located next to the arclight and the Sherman Oaks Galleria. Great parking for tenants, however parking for guests can be nearly impossible (as there are only about 5 assigned guest spaces for a complex of about 300 units). The facilities were always clean (pool, sauna, hot tub, gym), but oddly enough, the hallways were quite dingy and unkept. My only real problem was that if I needed something fixed, they definitely took their time. The parking garage was littered with leaky pipes, and again there was no hurry to stop them from leaking mystery fluid onto parked cars. Price was very fair for the penthouse apartment I was in, and everything is within walking distance. Overall, it was one of the better places I have lived in Los Angeles.

Biggest Pro: Location
Biggest Con: Slow maintenance
Let me start by saying that the apartment managers in this building are amazing. If I ever had any issues at all (even something as simple as a cupboard handle or a light bulb), it was fixed within the day. Such a community inside this little complex. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The apartment I was in was a 1st floor unit. Tons of space...I mean TONS! And natural light poured in from every window. The only issue I ever had was the fact that they decided to put hard wood floors in the unit directly above me, which makes not for a quiet slumber. We got lucky and actually had 3 designated spaces for the 2 of us. One single and 2 tandem spaces, basically our own guest space. If you've ever lived in West Hollywood, you know parking can sometimes be brutal for visitors. Right next to Runyon Canyon, Ralph's, Hollywood Blvd. I would absolutely recommend this complex to anyone looking.

18520 Vincennes St., Northridge, Ca 91324

Biggest Pro: Quiet!
Biggest Con: Size
The Hayward has a really awesome rooftop patio, with benches and potted trees. With good weather, its a very relaxing place to hang out or read a book. Security is really friendly and they do their job well. Like any other downtown apartment, the higher up you are the quieter it will be during the day. Sometimes there is construction going on or a movie shoot going on.
Biggest Pro: Safety
Biggest Con: Parking
206 W 6th St., Los Angeles, Ca 90013
The neighborhood isn't the safest, not recommended for children. It wasn't a gated community, and it was pretty small. A lot of homeless people in the surrounding area.

Biggest Pro: Parking
Biggest Con: Safety
945 Pacific Ave, Long Beach, Ca 90813
I have had a bedbug problem for years, but with certain sprays I figured out how to maintain it. Every weekend there is a party in the apartment below me, however it is only for 4 hours one time a week. Laundry and garbage room is a little dirty. The front door is always locked, it is a gated complex.
Biggest Pro:Landlord
Biggest Con: Parking
1247 Ingrahm, Los Angeles, Ca 90017
I've lived in many cities and many apartments. This building is a rent stabilized disaster where the landlord puts band aids on major problems. They refuse to replace defective ovens, a.c units, etc and use bogus, unlicensed inspectors to come in and say that things are working as they should. 5 units finally got an attorney and we sued him and won. He is a slumlord. Also, my car has been broken into 3 times in 5 years in my carport. We have an alley on our back side where homeless people are constantly loitering and looking in our trash. Noisy.

Biggest Pro: sunlight and view, free parking, I love my neighbors
Biggest Con: no stoppers, plugged up drains, brown water, ancient appliances, noise from other tenants ricochets off the center common space, windows are Plexiglas not glass, old carpeting that they refuse to replace.

409 S. Manhattan Place, Los Angeles, Ca 90020
This place started out seeming like a fantastic place. The apartment was spacious with new carpet and they offer move-in specials with good credit. The building seemed clean, neighbors were nice, manager was friendly. But when I discovered several roaches in my apartment, it was all downhill from there. I complained to management and was given "roach hotels" that were supposedly superior to others, and guaranteed to work. Three months later, the problem got worse. They then sent the "maintenance guy" over and all he did was "bomb" my apartment with stuff purchased from Home Depot. Come to find out, about 80% of the tenants living there had roach problems. The final straw though was when I discovered two bed bugs crawling near my gas heater. It took about two weeks, but the owner finally hired a professional to come in and exterminate. But by then it was too late. I was so traumatized I threw away all my furniture and moved out. As I was leaving, I found out from neighbors that several other tenants were having the same bedbug/roach problem I was having. So this could have been a better experience if the owner wasn't such a slum lord.
Biggest Pro: Large, Spacious Apartment, Pool great neighborhood, awesome pool and wonderful landlord
Biggest Con : Bedbugs/Roaches, Horrible Owner

Looking from the outside, esthetically this is a nice looking apartment building and the amenities seem great. However, this is not the case.
I’ll start with management because if the management were better this apartment complex would be better. There has been four management teams here over the last three years. For some reason, they replaced the best manager, M. M was proactive and straight forward. I wish I could say the same about the current management; T and F. Over 60 days ago T stated to me that he would send out newsletter which was to include a notice to residents about loitering outside of residents windows in the pool area and making noise after 10pm. He has yet to do so. T is not a problem solver, he just does what corporate tells him. F, is a robot, it doesn’t seem like he has the capability to receive and process information. F just says yes, no and hit buttons on his computer.
Management is so backwards; that they recently closed the swimming pool for two and a half weeks to refurbish it in the middle of spring; instead of the winter. Cont'd...
